Boring off day….(except for the peavy saga)

One thing that i hated on the “other blog” was an off day. It was so boring and there was not much to talk about. One thing that i want to try here is to have something to talk about and keep those brain juices churning…so for this off day i want to know:

IF YOU WERE A PITCHER AND YOU COULD ONLY LEARN 5 PITCHES, WHICH WOULD YOU LEARN? WHAT WOULD BE YOUR OUT PITCH?

heres some help:

  1. -I’d want the 4 seam to throw high out of the zone over the plate to get the hitter to climb the ladder;

    -The 2 seam to induce the double play grounder when needed;

    -The circle change to throw off their timing;

    -and the 12-6 curve just to throw occasionally to mess with their minds and break their knees.

  2. For me

    2 seam-to paint the corners
    4 seam-for strategy
    split-for ground ball/strike out
    circle change-to offset the fastballs
    12-6-just for the hitters to know i have one. It would be rarly used though.

  3. I have very little knowledge on pitch selection (Always been a fielder) but Id have to go with:

    -2 seam
    -splitter
    -slider to lefties (Im a southpaw)
    -change up

    Out pitch would be the 12-6 curve. Niese gets me all hot & sweaty with that pitch.

  4. Now the question is how many of us will be good at what we throw and how many of us will be Aaron Heilman? I know I know everyone is Johan!
